Get to know Croatia through its best beaches

Croatia has numerous fantastic beaches shaded by pine trees and lined with fine bars and delicious restaurants. Some of them are among the best and most famous European beaches. And other Croatian beaches are hidden in secluded bays where you can enjoy the comforting sounds of the sea and the wind in full privacy.

When you visit Croatia, you will easily find dozens of delightful beaches. And our list is not a definite list – it more like a teaser that will only spark your imagination.

This itinerary is listing some of the prominent locations along the Adriatic coast and will give you the opportunity to visit some of the beaches mentioned below.

Stiniva Beach, Vis Island

The farthest inhabited island from the Croatian mainland has one of the best beaches in Europe, the Stiniva beach. In 2016. Stiniva was named the top beach in Europe for 2016 by the Brussels-based tourism organization European Best Destinations.

The white pebble beach is nestled between towering cliffs with a small opening to the sea. The beach is invisible from the sea, and only a small boat can go through its narrow passage.

Spiaza, Susak

The small island of Susak, situated near Istria and island Lošinj, is laden with fine yellow sand. Without roads and cars, parties, and nightlife – Susak is an excellent destination for a family trip. The cute village, pretty hiking trails, vast fields of oregano plants, vineyards and sandy beaches delight by its tranquil atmosphere.

The island’s main claim to fame is the Spiaza beach, a gorgeous moon grey crescent-shaped stretch located near the Susak village. The bay is extremely shallow – you will need to walk at least half a kilometer to get too deep waters good enough for swimming. Pure joy for kids!

Sveti Jakov Beach, Dubrovnik

A popular Game of Thrones location, Dubrovnik, is a tourist paradise with a rich culture and stunning beaches. Sveti Jakov, one of many Dubrovnik beaches, is incredibly scenic. Many bars and restaurants than line the beach offer good food and refreshing drinks.

Uvala Dubovica, Hvar Island

There are many adorable bays and beaches on Hvar. Still, the best one is the Uvala Dubovica, a pebble beach located near a historic manor house. The bay is shallow, making it the right spot for families with kids. Its crystal clear water and unspoiled nature are a pure delight.

Zlatni Rat, Brač

The pebble laden beach with its see-through waters was named #3 beach destination in Europe two times in a row. Perfectly white pebble beach looks like a long finger jutting out into the water.  Punta Rata beach, Brela
